Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)
EFT is a meridian therapy. This means it is based on the energy fields within the body. It is a tapping therapy that involves tapping on a variety of acupuncture points on the body, whilst addressing a specific issue to help discharge any trapped energy.
EFT was created by Gary Craig who based the technique on Thought Field Therapy.
It is a wonderfully powerful technique and many clients gain alot of benefit from learning EFT in the sessions and using it in their own lives on a regular basis. It can be used for a wide variety of issues including stress, anxiety, nerves, addictions, habits and emotional issues. It can even be used for pain management!
Unlike suggestion work, EFT focuses on the negative side of how you are feeling. This is becuase it is the negative energies causing the block. The tapping can remove the negative feelings. One of EFT's primary strengths is its ability to dramatically reduce, or eliminate, the intensity of your emotionally troubling thoughts and memories. EFT has you combine them with self-acceptance, along with tapping on acupressure points. This often brings startling relief in just a few minutes, even when the memory has been bothering you for years.
Weight loss - EFT can reduce and eliminate cravings in only a couple of minutes and regular use can help you overcome your emotional issues associated with eating. This, combined with hypnotherapy is incredibly effective.
Cravings & addictions - EFT can bring down the immediate craving within minutes so that one can walk away from food, cigarettes, alcohol, drugs, and other addictive substances. EFTs long term successes are due to its ability to address an important cause of addictions: the need to "tranquilize" the anxiety caused by underlying anger, fear, guilt, and trauma. Until these issues are dissipated, the addictive behavior may remain.
These are just a few examples and I really enjoy using EFT with clients and its a great tool to implement for a variety of issues. Easily 90% of my clients who I use EFT with, love it and go on to use it regularly in their lives.
